Brixton BID Team members Gianluca Rizzo, Managing Director and Jessica Dyer, Cultural Manager attended the first Women’s Night Safety Charter Summit by Safer Business Network in November. The summit brought together organisations from across London who are taking action to keep women and girls safe at both day and night.
Gianluca was invited to join Amy Lamé’s men panel ‘Manel’ and open up the conversation between men around Violence Against Women & Girls (VAWG).
The panelists all agreed that men need to get involved in the conversation, get comfortable with feeling uncomfortable and support women and girls in ending violence. They also spoke about the importance of education, behaviour change and calling out unacceptable behaviour from other men.
Gianluca has been invited to join the GLA’s Women’s Night Safety Charter Steering Group, to shape the work of the charter. Brixton BID are proud signatories of the Women’s Night Safety Charter and we encourage colleagues and bid members to sign up. Find out more here.
