Lambeth’s Big Shift and PeddleMyWheels have partnered to deliver OurBike. OurBike is an app-based community e-cargo bike share scheme. It’s easy to use: simply download the app via the Play Store or App Store, sign up with a photo ID, then reserve your chosen bike and ride.
As of the 1st of July 2023, all new businesses that sign up will receive 180 minutes free use. All new resident signups will get 60 minutes. After that it’s only 75p per 15 minutes.
OurBike can be used to transport a wide range of items: parcels, recycling, cakes, even people. The Ridgeback MK5 bike can carry up to 150kg (including the weight of the rider) and comes with a bench that can seat 2 children.

The Big Shift aims to deliver innovative measures designed to build on the successes of the council’s infrastructure programme and existing Active Travel initiatives in order to help more of our residents and businesses to choose sustainable travel options.
PeddleMyWheels (PMW) has been operating cycling schemes in London for several years. Established in 2012, with the twin aims of running a socially, ethically, and environmentally responsible business and to get as many people cycling as possible.
PMW has partnered with Lambeth Council on several projects including the Bike Markets and Try Before You Bike. In 2019 PMW piloted a new cargo bike delivery scheme in partnership with Lambeth Council, Sustrans and a Business Improvement District. The scheme gave PMW valuable insight into the needs of businesses in respect of deliveries and cargo bike use. In 2020, in response to the huge interest in cargo bikes, PMW’s latest project was ‘OurBike’, a smart bike share scheme which breaks down the twin barriers of affordability and storage for e-cargo bikes.
