Following extensive lobbying, the Met have announced that before the end of the year a new Neighbourhood Policing Team made up of an Inspector, 3 Sergeants and 21 Constables will start patrolling Brixton Town Centre.
In October the Met announced that an additional 650 police officers will be joining Neighbourhood Policing Teams across the capital in the form of dedicated Town Centre Teams.
The extra officers will patrol at the times that will have the most impact on crime as well as on public safety, such as in the evenings. Brixton BID are already speaking to the Met to help shape the priorities of the new team.
