Register your interest in the business rates local relief scheme

Lambeth Council is advising businesses to register their interest in the business rates local relief scheme. A link to the application form can be found here.

With Lambeth businesses facing the fourth highest rateable value increase in the country under the 2017 Business Rates Revaluation, the Council has been considering different options of how their rates relief scheme can best support businesses across the borough, taking into account the direction from central government and the knowledge of local businesses. But Lambeth will be unable to finalise the scheme until the government has produced the regulations around it which is likely to be in place by mid-May 2017.

To make sure that the scheme can properly support the businesses that most need it in Brixton, Lambeth Council is encouraging you to register your interest by using the form via the above link for discretionary relief funding.

Brixton BID has worked with Lambeth Council to lobby central government to look again at the impact of increased business rates on local businesses. See here for more information.

We still encourage businesses to check, challenge, and appeal their rates via the VOA using the following link.
