With the festive season officially on, it’s time to showcase what Brixton has to offer. From unique gifts to pampering, drinks, meals and live performances in our venues, our town centre has everything you need. We all love our home and we want to encourage everyone to choose Brixton this Christmas.

If you really need some extra reasons, this is what’s on in the coming weeks in Brixton: Small Business Saturday celebration on Brixton Station Road, Winter Windows by Squire & Partners, live music performances, free gift wrapping, winter markets and so much more!

The Brixton Business Improvement District – BID is a not for profit organisation fully funded and led by local businesses. We celebrate Brixton as a destination and deliver additional initiatives such as street cleaning and security, festivals and direct services to members. After our recent successful ballot, the BID has secured another 5 years of investment worth £2.5M for Brixton.

We truly believe that Brixton is like nowhere else and we hope you will join us this festive period.

Brixton BID presents festive music from Brixton Chamber Orchestra. Join their six piece band to hear winter warmers on Tunstall Square and Brixton Station Road.

Wednesday 6, 13 & 20 December | 12pm – 3pm
Join our Wednesday Wonders across our town centre with local steel band London All Stars. Our free lunchtime concerts will bring a Caribbean warmth to your week. 6 December; 13 December – Brixton Village & 20 December.

Join us on Small Business Saturday to celebrate our businesses across Brixton Station Road. With music from local steel pan band London All Star’s, free gift wrapping from MUF Architects, and much more!

Visit Market Row, Brixton Village across three Sundays where Brixton BID are offering a FREE present wrapping service! Buy your Christmas gifts from one of our BID members between the 1 and 17 December and get up to 3 of your items beautifully wrapped. We will need to see receipts so make sure you have them to hand.

Sample coffees by Assembly and Volcano, grab a gift for your special someones, warm up with milled wine served by Newcomer Wines.

Now in its seventh year, the award-winning Winter Windows initiative is a collaboration between a group of Lambeth school children and designers and model makers at Brixton-based architecture practice Squire & Partners.

The annual project challenges the children to design neon winter lights which are displayed in the windows of The Department Store, Brixton. For 2023, Year 6 students from Loughborough Primary School were set the challenge of creating a series of shapes around the theme of ‘Dreamland’, which have been have transformed into a set of bespoke lights by Squire & Partners’ modelshop team.

In addition to the Brixton display and as part of its 2023 Winter Light festival, The Southbank Centre has also commissioned Squire & Partners to create a Winter Windows display for the Queen Elizabeth Hall, with designs penned by Year 6 students at Oasis Academy Johanna in Waterloo.

Both installations will illuminate the Southbank and Brixton respectively over the winter months, connecting two sites and two schools located in the Borough of Lambeth.
