Are you ready for Euros 2024?

The 2024 UEFA European Championship is a major opportunity to attract customers who want to watch live matches in the great atmosphere provided by Brixton’s businesses. The tournament will be played from 14th June, culminating in the final on 14th July

If you are planning to show Euro 2024 games in your premises this summer, you may well already have management practices in place to deal with any issues that arise. If not, the advice below is intended to be helpful and concise guidance to ensure that you have busy and successful events over the tournament.

Please also give particular attention to the following areas of risk, detailed in the guidance produced by the BBPA in partnership with UKHospitality, the British Institute of Innkeeping (BII), the Local Government Association and the National Police Chiefs’ Council with the aim to encourage licensing authorities, the licensed trade and the police to work together to ensure a safe and successful tournament. Some key considerations include:

  • External TVs – Please ensure matches can’t be viewed from outside of your premises as this could cause crowds to gather. Also consider where the screens are located for crowd management inside the venue.
  • Security – Consider use of SIA.
  • Glassware – Consider removing glassware and decanting bottles.
  • Mixing of Supporters – Consider the impact of having rival supporters in your venue.

We would also urge you to be aware of any related events that may pop up in your local community that may impact your business, especially if England reach the knockout stages. More advise is available in the BBPA Guidance. In an emergency always call 999.
